Location: Witney, Oxfordshire. Gloucester or Wiltshire (Trowbridge) | Salary: Circa £55k + car allowance
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional to become a member of our team and make a difference at one of the largest UK charities providing care for older people in the UK.
HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER
Base: Oxfordshire (Witney), Gloucester or Wiltshire (Trowbridge)
Salary: Circa £55k + car allowance

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for providing strategic and dynamic leadership for Health and Safety across all business areas of the Trust ensuring that it complies with all current health and safety legislation including Acts, Regulations, ACoPs and official guidance and standards.
As part of this role, you will:
  • Develop an overall health and safety management system/programme and ensure that it is implemented consistently across the Trust.
  • Develop and implement new systems and improvements taking into account operational and clinical needs to ensure a reduction in the Trust’s overall risk/liabilities.
  • Identify and set performance metrics and objectives for the Trust and individual operations based on appropriate proactive and reactive measurement standards.
  • Continually assess the status of health and safety within the Trust including undertaking reviews of existing operations and recommending improvement’s, leading to a reduction in the Trust’s overall risks/liabilities.
  • Promote and lead a health and safety behavioural culture throughout the Trust and provide a practical day-to-day information and advice service to all Trust executives, management teams and care homes.
We are looking for an individual who has extensive experience in a health and safety role within a multi-site organisation and a proven track record of developing implementing and reviewing health and safety policies and standards. You will have excellent Health and Safety Legislation knowledge, good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to interpret data, anticipate emerging problems and take appropriate preventative action. NEBOSH Diploma and a Chartered Member of IOSH or equivalent is essential.
The role can be based at one of our southern offices (in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire or Wiltshire). You will be required to travel to our other offices and Homes across four Counties. There will be occasional overnight stays.
