POSITION SUMMARY
The Social Media Manager will implement the Winter Park Resort / Trestle Bike Park social media strategy and campaigns, collaborate with diverse stakeholders to create new social media initiatives, track and analyze data to measure their efficacy, and manage the company’s daily social media responsibilities. This person will be responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of strategic social media initiatives including managing digital/social media campaigns, creating and supervising social media accounts and integrating these responsibilities into the overall marketing strategy. The right candidate will have experience in writing for the web as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Promote the Winter Park Resort / Trestle Bike Park brand by leveraging its assets to maximize fan engagement.
- Develop a consistent vision and best practices for Winter Park Resort’s / Trestle Bike Park’s social media assets which include but are not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube.
- Collaborate with Winter Park Resort / Trestle Bike Park business units, brands, sponsors, and other stakeholders to develop and execute social media initiatives that drive traffic, enhance engagement, and successfully market brands, sponsors, etc. in collaboration with marketing colleagues initiatives and channel support
- Work in conjunction with photographer / videographer on the development of strategically grounded and digital photographs / videos that are both relevant, sharable, and engaging; ultimately in an effort to consistently maintain consumer share of mind year-round and in particular in-season to drive toward business objectives
- Ensure that all social media programming is built into a media ecosystem that allows consumers to easily navigate toward conversion of WPR / TBP products
- Track data stemming from WPR’s / TBP’s social media and use the resulting data to inform future efforts and recommendations.
- Develop and implement opportunities for effectively leveraging social media content (such as user/fan generated content).
- Develop and manage a consumer relevant, content marketing program in alignment with company vision / mission / objectives working with content contributors and content distribution partners with deployment across all social (primary), web, and email channels.
- Embody a clear and consistent brand voice in all social channels that fosters lifelong relationships with all fans, followers, and otherwise – social following; and engage directly with social following as a front-line and collaborative guest services agent, working directly with the Guest Services team as necessary
- Continuously improve our social media practice with vigilance of new and emerging social media platforms & technologies that can promote WPR / TBP and provide leadership in the adaptation and development of these resources for WPR / TBP brand purposes
- Be highly analytical in all social media efforts by monitoring our social listening and analytics tools to direct positive impact on business objectives.
- Write copy for emails, website, and other marketing initiatives as assigned.
- Develop and champion social media contests using Offerpop.
- Partner with Intrawest marketing team to launch social initiatives.
- Assist marketing colleagues as needed and when excess bandwidth is available to achieve team based goals
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing
- Must have held a professional social media position for a minimum of 2 years
Experience:
- Experience in the snow sports industry strongly preferred
- Offerpop experience preferred but not required
- Simply Measured experience preferred but not required
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer functionality required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in content generation, digital marketing, and social media required
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License ad clean motor vehicle record desirable
- Command of HTML/CSS, video-photo equipment and editing tools desirable
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position does not require regular travel; however, from time to time, travel to industry events and other locations may be required. A valid, unexpired Passport is desirable.

Office Environment:

Mountain Environment:
- The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
- The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 20 pounds throughout the day is common.
- Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
- Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.

- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
